FF 3.5 & SB 4.2

Hi all,

I hope I’m not starting a pointless thread so please forgive if that is the case. I have just noticed something odd (possebly an issue) with FireFox 3.5 and Spyware Blaster 4.2.

Here is the deal.
I open SB and everything is ok… all the security features are enabled.

I close it and open Firefox. I go to Tools – Clear Recent History… – put a check mark next to Form & search History, and next to Site Preferences.-- click Clear Now – close FF and when I open SB I see that 230 items are not protected in FF.

Has any one else noticed this or am I wrong?

Thanks ???

EDIT:
Just updated to FF 3.5.1… same problem occurs but now with only Site Preferences being check marked.

Site Preferences is the problem – there were a number of postings about this at the Firefox forums. Basically, if you include that as part of what you clear, it clears most permissions/restrictions you’ve set up for sites (or SB has set up for you).

For now, untick Site Preferences – I’m not sure why anyone would want to have to keep resetting permissions anyway. This might or might not have been one of the fixes included in FF 3.5.1, released a day or two ago.

The simple solution? Don’t check the “Site Preferences” box. In most circumstances, there’s absolutely no reason to clear them. (i.e. You probably want to keep them.)

Thanks for the quick replies MikeBCda and Tech.
Like I said I only noticed it now… at least now I know…thanks. ;D
