I see no purpose, but someone suggests I open a new topic for an old issue which was supposedly solved two years ago, but isn’t.
I am attempting to move a file folder to a new place in my file structure. Windows says the I can’t, because a file there is in use by another program. Eventually, I create a duplicate file folder where I want it, and start moving the files a few at a time in order to figure out which one is the problem. I move all but one, and that last one, a .doc, will not move. The error message is “File in Use - The action can’t be completed because the file is open in Avast Antivirus - Close the file and try again.” Disabling Avast shields (while offline) and trying again does nothing. Same error. I finally copied the file to the new place, but it still refuses to let me delete the old file and folder, because it’s still in use. This is the same problem as was reported and was supposedly due to be fixed in June 2018 on the thread I originally posted on.
I don’t have any time to deal with programs which interfere with productivity in this way.
