I will use Windows’ Task Scheduler to make scheduled updates of virus database, but I need the name of the file that updates it.
Is it ashUpd.exe or VisthUpd.exe or some other one?
I appreciate the help, please.

You can’t do it with the Home version, as far I know.
But maybe the file is ashUpd.exe program /silent /nodetails
Yes, you can do it, because I have done it for scheduledscans using the method.
I only need the right name for the file( .exe)
Thanks
The update process is somewhat different to scheduling a scan using the work around with ashQuick.exe as that file is designed to be called to scan a file/s, where as the avast update is designed to be automatic.
Thank you for your reply.
I set up the Windows scheduler to use the VisthUpd.exe and it worked a few minutes ago at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time.
However I was not aware that it updates automatically.
I don’t know if that works with the Free Home version 4.8, I can delete it.
Does it work with this version?
Thanks.
At default settings, avast! Home automatically checks for updates every 240 minutes (4 hours).
This period can be adjusted by right-clicking on “a” tray icon > Program Settings > Update (Basic) > Details
These are two unrelated commands. You’re scheduling ashQuick.exe through Windows Scheduler. You’re not scheduling a avast scanning like in the Pro version. You have no flexibility.
The minimum time for Home version is 120 minutes.
In Pro version you can go unlimited.
