Resulta que estoy intentando escanear mi ordenador, pero me he dado cuenta que cuando le doy a comenzar a escanear (al triangulito del signo “Play”), me pone en la segunda línea “Escanear archivos: Desactivado”. ¿Éso qué quiere decir? ¿Que no va a escanear los archivos? Yo sí veo que escanee los archivos de mi ordenador así que lo de “Desactivado” no lo entiendo bien. Tengo otros ordenadores con Avast y en todos pone “Escanear archivos: Activado”, excepto en este, que es el que más utilizo. ¿A qué se debe? ¿Qué diferencia hay entra Activado y Desactivado? Y lo más importante, ¿cómo lo pongo como Activado? Porque la verdad, no sé si cómo se puso desactivo. He mirado todas las opciones de configuración del Avast y no he conseguido solucionarlo, y como las ayudas y el foro de Avast están en inglés, no hay forma de aclarse. Les agradecería una pronta contestación. El ordenador lleva unos días muy lento y le he pasado el programa antiespías “Spybot - Search & Destroy” y me ha detectado varios virus Gracias por anticipado.

También mi preocupación viene en que cuando le doy a Ctrl+Alt+Supr y me sale el Administrador de tareas de Windows, pincho en la pestaña de Procesos y veo que desde hace un par de días hay 2 procesos activos, que pone iexplorer.exe, que creo que es cuando tengo el Internet Explorer abierto. Pero me sale sin tener el Internet Explorer abierto, o sea, que es muy raro. Entonces, pincho en iexplorer.exe y luego en Terminar proceso y luego repito la misma operación con el otro iexplorer.exe que me aparece, y a las 4 o 5 segundos, otra vez me aparece en el Administrador de tareas de Windows 2 procesos activos que pone iexplorer.exe. O sea, se abren solos. Por éso le estoy pasando el antivirus, para ver si tiene un virus, pero claro, pone Escanear archivos: Desactivado y éso me hace pensar que no escanea nada. Ya me dirán. I presume this is avast 4.8 you are talking about, as that is what I have given the information for.
By default archives aren’t scanned, you can check the box to have them scanned (see image, click to expand), but personally that is a waste of processing effort as they are inert. Also there is the Thorough sensitivity which also scans files that aren’t an immediate risk or in some cases can’t be infected.
Thorough is also by its design very thorough (it scans all files) and perhaps a little overkill for routine use, were a Standard scan without archives should be adequate. Archive (zip, rar, etc.) files are by their nature are inert, you need to extract the files and then you have to run them to be a threat. Long before that happens avast’s Standard Shield should have scanned them and before an executable is run that is scanned.
I have only ever done a Through Scan with Archives once shortly after installation just to ensure a clean start state, but with XP for example avast will do a boot-time scan after installation if you select it, this I believe will be quicker and reasonably effective. Like everything in life things are a compromise.
From your image it is showing the scan in progress and that you haven’t selected archives to be scanned.
