Running Windows 10, Avast Pro Antivirus. Recently I’m getting “connection was reset” errors on many websites, such as msn.com If I shut off File Shield, the problem goes away. Any ideas?

Are you sure it is the file-shield and not the webshield ?

The man.com appears to be down according to firefox.

Another point, I find it strange that this has anything to do with the file system shield as that is normally local on-access scans that it carries out. The web shield should be the only shield with direct contact with web browsing.

@DavidR msn.com/en-gb is working here … with chrome and no avast AV

No problem here using the latest free version of Avast.

Update. I’ve had this problem for a few days now, and all of a sudden it seems to be working fine. Maybe turning the shields off and then on reset something. Odd.
