I have a Mac Mini M1, just upgraded the OS from Ventura to Sonoma 14.6.1. This scenario is new to Sonoma; didn’t happen with Ventura:
Avast Premium Security for Mac, V 15.8.0 finds a pdf file as malware and quarantines it. Within 2 minutes it gets regenerated and I get the popup/popover that I cannot disable. Not cool… Screenshot attached. The Process path says it’s in Finder. I’m not a software developer, but that seems quite alarming! I’m happy the file is quarantined, but I’d sure like to not be notified every 2 minutes. Is there anything to be done? Thanks very much.
Brian
Hi Brian, the “CloudDocs” path suggests that this PDF file is being downloaded repeatedly from your iCloud storage. I recommend that you check your iCloud storage in your web browser (icloud.com), find the file “f18889.pdf” and remove it.
This should prevent this file from being downloaded repeatedly to your system from your iCloud storage.
