Hello. Could you please explain me how does these settings affect protection and performance? How should I configure these settings in different situations like “I want maximum protection and I don’t care about performance” or “I am on Intel Atom tablet and I want to be protected without huge performance hit”?
Well I have as my second system - Acer Aspire One, Win7 Starter (32bit) 10.1", 1024X600 screen, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Atom N255 (1.5GHz dual core) CPU and 250GB HDD. This is a very old Intel Atom processor (three years or more), so hopefully yours has more grunt.
I don’t know what the spec is for your tablet, but I increased RAM to 2GB, but I suspect in a tablet you can’t do that.
For the most part I leave my avast settings at the default and all four options (in your image) are enabled. The two caching options, may for a time increase resource use but after a few boots and checks of common programs/files on the system have been scanned this should improve performance.
My old system is slow when opening some programs, but for general use and browsing it is fine.
