Over the past couple of months, I’ve been experiencing an issue others on here struggling with too. I do regular security and cleansing checks of my PC - Anti-Malware Scans, CCleaner scans, Very occasionally run a defrag, Smart scans with avast and of course Full Time Scans and also Boot-Time Scans - but as stated, recently Avast has been popping up a few times a day on several different days during the month saying “Threat Blocked” with the following message “We’ve moved setup_clvupdsp.exe to your virus chest because it was infected with FileRepMalware [PUP].” Now I know for a fact that the .exe file Avast is referring to is completely legitimate and widely used among many people of the Windows community, which confuses me a little bit because I’ve tried getting rid of this brain aching popup with everything I know about computers and it just doesn’t go. I’ve tried looking inside the folder in which avast says it’s located and the .exe file is not there, I’ve also tried a targeted scan on all storage devices directed at said folder and subfolders, but still the problem persists. If anyone has a solution to this problem, or can just point out a simple fix I’m missing, I would greatly appreciate it as one doesn’t like to be disturbed when playing the new Modern Warfare. Many thanks to anyone that can offer any help.
