FilerepMalware

Hi,

avast is telling me that it has detected a threat, but when I do a subsequent smart scan it says everything is ok.

The details are:

https://storagecard.info/55/projecte.dat

filerepmalware

Process: powershell.exe

I’m on Windows 10, fully patched and with the latest versions of all the software I use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Mike

Dr.Web: known infection source

0k, thanks for that. I ran MBAM but it only found 3 PUPs, not the file that avast declared a threat.

Scan logs attached.

Powershell is a windows system file and is not a threat

Thank you. I am aware of what powershell is and I did not cite it as a threat.

Avast did, however, see fit to list it in the warning box with the other information supplied.

Now, I don’t know anything about these things, but it seems to be that the reference to powershell is relevant, else why mention it?

I will grab a screenshot if it rears its ugly head again…

Mike

It is relevant as there is malware that uses powershell, however you do not have that
