Files Missing

According to a recent HJT log, I’m missing some files in avast Pro. How do I get these back as I have no idea why they’re missing?

O23 - Service: avast! iAVS4 Control Service (aswUpdSv) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe
O23 - Service: avast! Antivirus - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe
O23 - Service: avast! Mail Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe" /service (file missing)
O23 - Service: avast! Web Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe" /service (file missing)

I have seen this noted in several posts regarding HijackThis logs. This one isn’t recent, but may still be relevant. If not, I am sure someone will let you (and me) know. :slight_smile:

It might not be recent but it is still relevant as the version of HJT is still the latest.

If they were truly missing (in short avast wouldn’t work), then the avast Update, avast scanning engine, avast email scanner and Web Shield wouldn’t work. You could have checked using windows explorer that the files do in fact exist.
