Finding out what causes CPU use to go up?

Hello, how do I found what programs cause my computer CPU usage to go up so much that my fan is coming on?

There was a period when I just doing light internet browsing, and I noticed my computer CPU usage going so up.

Furthermore, I saw that Avast FileSystem Shield was looking at a bunch of files that I wasn’t even pulling up.

I know Task Manager can show. But is there an even better program that can show any and all programs that are causing CPU usage to go up? I’m looking for a very easy to use, straightforward program.

Start with installing the latest version of avast and see if things improved/solved:

Process Explorer and Process monitor come in mind.

Make sure there is no dust inside the case and psu.
