Has somebody ever experienced this? I scanned my PC with SAS & SpySweeper with no infection detected. Yet, something weird happened this afternoon just before I rebooted the Document folder where I store all my CVs & letters froze leaving me with no choice but reboot!!! Then after reboot, I opened FF and it behaved like a fresh installation. Weird. May be this is due to beta program, I don’t know? What do you say? Do you have any rememberance of a browser re-installing its components??? Three tabs opened: the FF 3b5 tab, the NoScript v. 1.6.4 tab and the latest WOT version tab, all of them relating they were successfully
installed. ???
Hi gdiloren,
This bug has been there before. It must be an install error. If your OS is XP, you could try this inside your current Firefox, download: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=122311

I am on Vista Home Premium! I prefer it a lot (being only a bug). Thanks
I have had that happen before with firefox 2.0 (it might even have been earlier) after a BSOD unrelated to firefox but FF was open. So when I rebooted it had a different theme, toolbar layout, extensions, etc. as you say like a fresh install.
I wasn’t going to attempt to put it back to what it was restoring all my extensions, tweaks, etc. it would have just taken too long, so I just used my backup image taken a couple of days ago and my system and firefox was as it was two days earlier. I then restored my daily backups of bookmarks, emails, docs, etc. etc. painless and all in under 20 minutes.
If you don’t us hard disk imaging software, be ready for a world of pain resolving issues like this and more serious ones.
I’ve lost more than once the possibility of recovering the extensions and plugins…
