since installing the Avast firefox addon I’m having trouble using firefox, sometimes the browser isn’t responding within some seconds.
Can I just turn off the browser protection without affecting my computer’s security?

Sorry for the inconvenience. Our browser addons adds an extra layer of protection on top the antivirus. Disabling the browser protection just turns off this extra layer, not the core antivirus or web shield.
Can I ask you what other add ons are you using in Firefox?
