I have been using Firefox since a couple of years now . Probably used 2 to 3 different versions uptil now . Mostly it works o.k. and there are no issues . However , sometimes when surfing the Internet to watch images & video , when I have mutiple windows (or tabs)open (in Versions 3.6 & 7.1), sometimes Firefox did used to hang . Each time this happened , I would have to close the process - "firefox.exe" in the Task Manager & simply start Firefox again . Half of the times , the problem would go away after doing this , but sometimes the problem would persist .
Recently , I unstalled McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise ,Threatfire & Deep Freeze from my p.c. Thereafter , I re-installed Threatfire , & installed Avast Anti Virus & Comodo Firewall on my p.c. Since I made these changes , Firefox started to hang so I updated it to Version 8 . after that , it crashes every time I try to open it even before it has opened up . Why is this happening ? Do I need to specify it as a trusted application (exception) in any of the Security applications that I have installed ? I already specified it as trusted in Comodo . Was this necessary ?
I even completely uninstalled & then re-installed it all over again but still it crashes . What could be the solution ?
Even after I am able to get it up & running , how do I "Repair" it or how do I see to it that it doen't hang ever (when multiple firefox windows have been opened) ? Could any Plug-ins or Add-ons be responsible for Firefox hanging ? My usage of Firefox is mostly Yahoomail , Facebook , Google , downloading images & videos & sometimes watching streaming video . So , what be be the most necessary add- ons & plug-ins for me which are 100 % safe ? I am attaching the Crash details for your perusal .
Note : I have relocated the "Profile" Folder to a drive other then the C Drive .
