Firefox & Google

Hi,
This morning when I logged onto my Google account, Avast said that it blocked a virus. Just in case, I ran a quick scan and it detected a ‘severe’ threat. But it wouldn’t allow me to move it into the chest, or repair. Instead I deleted the threat and went through the reboot process. During the reboot scan, it looked like it picked up the same threat (located in a Firefox file). Sorry I can’t be more specific, I have no idea what most of this means.

Should I run another scan? Malwarebytes, Spybot, and SuperAntiSpyware are all showing clean results.

I know that no one is immune, but it seems strange that it would come from Google.
I read in another post that someone was having the same problem logging onto Blogger. Could this be a false positive?

Thanks!

No, [I mean: no need to run another scan]

There are now so many enquiries about this problem (avast detecting a Blacole exploit) that I can’t even search for the relevant thread. Has been acknowledged as as false positive; will be fixed in the next definitions update.

Thanks, Kwartet!
I just installed the latest update and knock on wood, everything seems okay.
