Hi, I often get this message when I close my browser ‘Firefox has stopped working’ and I must click to close the program. It has been suggested that my security program (Avast) is still scanning files being saved, as Firefox is shutting down, resulting in Windows thinking it has stalled and calls on WerFault to log an error. Could this be the case and if so is there anything I can do about it?
I have had that problem. What I did is reinstalled firefox and that cured the problem.
Yeah, I reset FF and the problem disappeared but now its back, so I think it might be only a temporary fix.
(reinstall) not reset
Am I correct in assuming that a re-install would mean manually transferring all bookmarks?
No when you go to ad or remove and click on firefox uninstal it will ask if you want to keep your setting, click yes then you reinstall
Big thanks. Will give it a try.
Just for information purposes:
Before I tried this I decided on a clean uninstall of Avast and then installed it again. Problem solved!
This may not be the correct thread, but as a newbie I can’t see how to start a thread. My question is how to I prevent a script from < cdn.viafoura.net >
from stopping Firefox running Windows 7?
You should start a new thread/topic.
