Firefox issues

I have Firefox installed as a backup browser, but for some reason Avast will not let it connect to any websites. If I switch Avast off it works.

I have checked my blocked apps and it’s not in there, it is in the allowed apps.

Anyone else had the same issues. I don’t really want to uninstall Avast or I have to go through the barrage of permission popups again

Any help is appreciated

Dave

Some more information might be helpful.

Are you getting an Avast alert or are you getting a Firefox or site error message ?

If so please print a screenshot of the Avast Alert or error message.

Firefox is my default browser and no issues here.

No issues with firefox here.

check if you have any updates waiting to install, UI>menu>settings>update
run a smart scan to see if you have any outdated apps
are you running a vpn, either avast or other as youve not mentioned which version of avast you are using.

Thanks for the replies.

No errors showing anywhere I have attached a screenshot of what happens in Firefox when I try to go to a website. No pending updates or running a VPN and anything else for that matter. I use Brave as my default browser and that get websites no problem. It doesn’t matter what site I try to go to either. It’s noting to do with a firewall either as I have made sure that Firefox is in the permitted group

OK Thanks for the replies but it’s working again now. There was a setting in Avast I hadn’t seen and now I’ve changed it all is fine and it’s working as it should

Thanks for the response.
I had just connected after your 1st reply and I got through OK.

What was the setting you had the problem with, it might help others ?

I had obviously at some point denied Firefox access for updates or similar as it was blocked in ‘Rule List’ ‘Application Rules’. when I removed the restriction it start working as it should

Thanks for the clarification.
