Firefox release candidate available for testers!

Hi firefox browser users,

The release candidate of Firefox 3.0 can be had from here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/3.0rc1-candidates/build1/firefox-3.0.en-US.win32.installer.exe (American version)
Could well be there gonna be two or three versions before the official update to Firefox 3.0 can be downloaded, but this one for those that cannot wait and want to evaluate,

I can always wait, being a dial-up user teaches you if nothing else patience ;D

Not to mention I’m in no rush to find some of my extensions won’t work. So hopefully the RC version will start to see many extension writers update their code so it is compatible with version 3.0.

Hi DavidR,

I stay with Firefox 3Beta5 and all extensions work there. The test version release candidate for Firefox 3.0 can handle critical add-ons like NoScript and ABP. You can also force some other extensions, but it is not known what that does to the stability of the browser. I wait for the final thing through the normal download tracé…

I am now using RC1 from the mozilla site with it “installed” in Firefox Portable folder. Of course, I have already backed up the profile folder but it is working fine with the extension compatibility tweak.

Hi Rumpelstiltskin,

The Firefox 3.0 RC1 works fine with NoScript and AdBlockPlus, the two add-ons I cannot live without using a Mozilla type browser like Firefox, Flock. From the Beta5 I know it is much better and faster than the 2.0 builds. At the moment I also use DocZilla in a secure environment: http://www.doczilla.com/download.html
Nice Gecko type CiTEC browser,
