FIREKEEPER AND AVAST AND FIREFOX EXTENSION INST. PROBLEM

The installation problems some of you experience with extensions in FF 3.0.1 with Firekeeper installed have been solved. The invalid hash and download corrupt message associated with each attempt can be solved by removing Firekeeper (which is alpha and not even available from the add-on site but the developper site.) It is not linked to AV, be it AVAST or Threatfire (although they have had some issues). Please read the link http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=38380.75 :-[
It is also suddenly preventing update with BoClean impeding connection with their servers. :o

I really don’t think that has anything to do with avast (as you also mention) and as such shouldn’t be on the avast 4 home/pro forum.

Right now, uninstalling Threatfire for the thousandth time to see if Firefox extensions could be installed ::slight_smile:

Tech, I uninstalled Threatfire 2 days ago. My problem was finally solved by uninstalling Firekeeper. I don’t know why but it started giving problems a few days ago (before it was OK). Now, I surfed on the Firefox Mozillazine and Firefox Geckozone forums and saw threads relating about possible interference with AVAST and Comodo3 with FF extension installation. I can only say I am sure at 100% that AVAST v.4.8.1229 doesn’t interfere in any way with the installation of extensions in FF. That’s why I wrote this thread here. 8)

Man… what I’ve said… All extensions come back to work again…
I hate that the PCTools team did nothing about this regardless the complains send to them… Well, now it will become worse, it will be a Symantec product :stuck_out_tongue:
