Firewall blocking mail

Hello all,

We are currently having a problem with my dad’s laptop and ofc I’m the one to fix it :slight_smile:

Anyway, it turns out the Avast Premier firewall is holding back all incoming and/or outgoing mails (checked in Win10 mail and Mozilla Thunderbird)

When we try it on our desktop (running Avast internet security) it works like a charm…

If we disable the firewall on his laptop, it also works… So it’s definitely a problem with the firewall of the Avast Premier.

Any help or info would be appreciated !

is firewall profile in private or puplic mode?

if you cange mode, any difference?

If still problems, delete all firewall rules related to Win10 mail and Mozilla Thunderbird
Reboot and create new rules when/if firewall ask

Hi there, apparently it was set up in public mode.
When I changed it to private, it worked ! So I’m changing it to private, and unchecking the automatic profile switch option…
