firewall fails to start

Avast is still refusing to start the firewall, after the restart, and after the repair.

OK ... the same diagnostic logs may help finding out why

i am not a log expert, but to me there seems to be a ton of crap there … anyway essexboy will fix it

wow… it is a very old computer, with windows vista so… it is a very likely possibility that there is tons of junk on there.

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

Having Windows Defender and avast running at the same time is not a good idea.

I just disabled windows defender, and there is still no luck. I also tried starting the Avast Firewall service manually, and there was nothing. It says that some services will start then stop if they are not being used by other services.

Download Windows All In One Repair from Tweaking.com to your desktop
Install the programme

Reboot to safe mode with networking
Run Windows All In One
Select Step 2
Select open Pre-repairs scan then click scan
Let that complete
Save the results to a text file on your desktop
