Firewall has automatically blocked IP address [Port scan protection]

While browsing a website I manage I found it suddenly became “unavailable”, yet was still available on another PC. In the Avast firewall logs I found “Firewall has automatically blocked IP address x.x.x.x [Port scan protection]” (where x.x.x.x is the IP of my website).

If something in my website really is performing a port scan I need to know about it, but I can’t find any further details, and a check using an online website scanner reports all good.

Also, the PC is behind a router/firewall so it seems unlikely that anything on the web would be able to perform a port scan on the PC.

So is it a bug with Internet Security, or what?

Cheers!

As has been mentioned in many other threads, there is a bug in the port scanning.
Disable it till avast has rolled out a fix.

Please (re)search before posting.

There are several such topics, indicating it is a bug, which should get squashed in due course.

I believe that the suggested option is to disable the port scanning option in the firewall settings. Sorry if that isn’t the correct term, but I don’t use the avast firewall.
