Firewall issues : can't modify rules

Hi everyone, as the title says, I can’t modify or edit rules for applications. This happened when Avast Security Premium updated itself again. There was some notifications about changes in Firewall among other things. When I checked it, there was indeed some minor changes in the menu layout, but when I press the option to modify a rule for a specific app, the options that are supposed to be available through pulldown menus come up as blank. For example, I click on “action” and the pulldown comes up blank (there’s a thin black line with nothing in it).

In short, I can’t actually change the rules even though that option is provided.

Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue. Thanks.

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Same problem, repair does not fix problem. Application Rules blank no options, drop down emtpy.

Hi, thanks for the screenshot, I forwarded it…

Hello, thank you for the reports. I hope we will be able to release fix soon (around begging of next week).
Petr

actually i just also noticed this myself was going to edit some rules

seems to be with the ui version 1.0.697

is it normal to do multiple restart after importing settings because the first restart seems to make the ui not usable i did 3 reinstalls since i thought something gone wrong with the import or the recent backupsetting wasnt compatible

Hi guys, it has been fixed now with the latest UI update.

So the Firewall Rules issue is now fixed? Which version is fixed? I last tried Beta 22.3.6008 and it was not fixed.

Be sure that your UI version is higher than 1.0.697 - you probably need to reboot to get it.

I installed Avast Free 22.3.6008 and with the new UI, this issue seemed to be fixed. But when I clicked ‘Block new app’, the rule showed that I allowed the app. I then have to change the rule from Allow to Block. Hope you can fix this issue.

Confirmed, I’ll forward it.
