I don’t know if your Firewall Settings might be the issue, the Firewall and Network Shied work together. First your home network would need to be trusted.

Then you should be able to set the Network Shield settings.

I’m unsure if the communication is directly to your Fire TV Stick or Via your TV.

I don‘t think think, that the firewall setting is the problem - my home network is marked as a trusted network. The connection is between the notebook and the TV fire stick, I start the communication from the Homescreen of the stick.

The Firewall and the Network Inspector work hand in hand.

I don’t know if the Settings in the Network Inspector, Network Class and Firewall Profile are set to Home and Trusted.

See image of mine, note I generated this image for another topic (too many popup notifications) so the data in the red box aren’t really related to your issue (I think).

Yes - Network Class and Firewall Profile are set to Home and Trusted.

Not using a Fire TV Stick, I can’t speak from personal experience. So I’m unsure if and how a Fire TV Stick would integrate with Avast.

It’s strange that you aren’t getting any error message from Avast.

So I did some searching and some are saying you can’t unless you have installed the Avast VPN on the fire tv stick:

This was one of the hits, but the Avast VPN is a paid product.

It is not possible to install Avast Secure VPN on the TV Fire Stick.
Thank you, but the easiest solution is to deactive the firewall temporarely.

You’re welcome.

Sorry it wasn’t more productive.
