I’ve just installed Avast, and all seemed to be going well. However, I can’t seem to get the firewall working. When I click on the button to turn it on, all I get is an error message that the firewall is not available.
Furthermore, when I tried to open a ticket on the tech support page, I got “Unable to submit the ticket; you do not have the permissions required to submit tickets on this support desk.”
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Choosing repair got me another error message, but it directed me to update the program from within it, and when I did that and restarted, I found myself with a firewall.
