I read all the threads of firevall but he could not understand why it does not work for me.
I played around with various combinations of on and off settings.
When I select for the list mode “Allow selected” all applications have access to the network (eg Wi-Fi) and does not affect the switches for the application.
When I select “Deny selected” Firewall blocks all applications, regardless of the selected switches.
What am I doing wrong? I do not want to put a third-party Firewall
Same problem here. I’ve tried every possible combination but none of them worked. But the strange thing for me is, the firewall for wifi works like a charm.
I’ve also downloaded Droidwall and the same thing happened - wifi firewall’s good; 3G firewall doesn’t do anything.
Possible solution: uncheck set mobile data limit under data usage
I’ve tried everything that I could think off and after unchecking this option, the firewall works again!!
I think this option MAY BE causing problems will firewall filters used in different apps because I’ve tried 3 firewall apps from the market and none of them worked for the past few days. But after I unchecked this option, they all worked again.
Let me know if it works for you then I shall see if I should send a bug report about this
I slill can’t find this option on my phone. But even if it is included somewhere in the phone, then why other firewalls, for example droidvall work as expected.
Can someone help me with this problem? Or do I still have to put a firewall separately?
what’s the status of the “Block All Apps” button? If the mode is “Allow selected” and “Block All Apps” is selected, then all apps are allowed. If the mode is “Block selected” then all apps are blocked.
Yes, it helped me with my problem. Thanks.
But now I have a problem with downloading apps from the Market.
If the mode is “Allow selected” and “Block All Apps” disabled, I can’t download the application from the Android Market.
I enable access to Wifi for ALL applications on the list
When I set mode is “Allow selected” and “Block All Apps” is selected all work fine.
you also have to allow some of the built-in OS functionality located at the bottom of the firewall app list for the Android Market to work. I think that what you need to allow is either “Google Services Framework” or “Account and Synchronization Settings”.
