Everytime i use Avast with passivemode off It prevents me to go any internet page, what to do?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Why would you use Passive Mode ?
It is designed so you can run another antivirus without them conflicting ?
What errors are you getting on trying to load the webpage/s ?
Are you using another Antivirus (if so what) as that could be the culprit ?
I have avast antivirus and nothing else, I use passivemode because if I turn it off I can’t open any internet page, for some reason program wont allow me. the problem came to me after I update the program.
So the real question is “Why would you need to switch Passive mode On”
This doesn’t make sense to me Passive Mode is off by default
which is the reverse of what you are saying.
There is also Enable Offline Mode. Which if enabled disconnects the computer from the Internet completely. You don’t say if you have also done this ?
Test With Offline mode Enabled, still able to make this reply and post.
EDIT: Mind you I didn’t do a system restart (too onerous for this test) to completely fix the setting..
I don’t have “enable offline mode” on and i tried to turn off passive mode and same thing, no internet “you dont have access to this page” but after I turn ON passive mode, I can open pages normally. I bought this avast months ago, before I have free version but now I think to quit because this is frustrating.
Well we need to know what Avast Program and version number that you are running.
Look at the details under my posts and that shows the Avast Version I’m using, which is the latest 26.2 on a windows 10 system and my default browser is Firefox. The settings in my previous post reflects the 26.2 version of Avast.
You haven’t mentioned anything about your system, which makes it somewhat difficult to try and help.
amd ryzen 5 laptop, nvidia gforce rtx, windows 11, avast 26.2 and i’m using chrome.
I’m honestly lost here, the screenshot I posted are the Default settings (well certainly haven’t changed them) and both are unchecked.
Does it work with any other browser ?
I don’t use chrome and for me installing it (when I have been actively avoiding it) is a step to far.
