Firewall says on Avast say no

Here is everything I can give you.

Toshiba laptop – piece of dung by my opinion.
This is a home laptop not connected to any other computer
This computer is not a business computer nor is it ever used for that.
Charter is is our internet service though I use Centurylink e-mail.
Windows 7 Home Premium
Fully updated Windows two days ago
IE 11
Firefox updated today
New Avast install two day ago.
I have managed to reinstall YAC.
I use paid CCleaner, which I am thinking was a mistake as problems started way back switching from the free one last year.
If I cannot delete through CCleaner, I know something is amiss. If I cannot delete through Windows, something is very wrong.
Windows security found no problems but Avast is my main system for security but I have found in the past that just because one service says all is well that may not be true.

When this started approx. five days ago, I could not open security installed or new downloads, or delete anything. I do not know if I can delete now as Chromium is the only item I would delete but I normally keep it just because I can.

The problem happened on Firefox, Internet Explorer . When I tried Chromium it did not function so I deleted it or thought I did, Chromium five days ago.
I did a computer restore, as that has fixed problems in the past but that brought Chromium back. It restored back to Dec.9 and nothing worked even after that.
I checked and my computer is setup to receive remote assistance.
The safe start reboot seems to have fixed most but the fact that the Avast Firewall shows as being on and Avast keeps telling me it is not is annoying and a bit worrisome.

Some times, on some sites, not always the same one, rather than getting the web page, I get the programming language used to set-up the page.
That stopped about a year ago but now is back.

I have managed to reinstall YAC.
Ouch, that is malware :( Please follow the instructions in the link that Bob gave you.

More information on YAC:

YAC is not the problem, although I can remove it. I only installed when I switched from free CCleaner to paid and started having problems with CCleaner a year ago.

When what ever happened that that disabled Avast, YAC was also dead.
I tried downloading and reinstalling both but I could not open the download.

I did the reboot Avast said and it works EXCEPT for the Firewall which Avast both says in on and not on at the same time.
This was BEFORE I reinstalled YAC.

I just did a recheck and for the first time the Avast chart shows Firewall is off, and it cannot turn it on.
Yesterday the same Active Protection chart said it was already on while telling me it was off.

I used to have Malware bytes but uninstalled it with other cleaners as I had more than I needed.

Please provide the logs as requested.
They do not only show if there is malware or not, but also a lot of other things that may be useful.
