Perform a repair of avast and see if it solved the problem.
Also make sure any previous installed av has been removed completely.
Repair didn’t help and I don’t see any other installation in CP. How do I check?

Sometime after I last checked email last night “something” happened.
This morning the firewall was turned back on and the spam settings had reset to defaults.
Keep an eye on it the next couple of days.
Let us know if the problem get back or not.
