Is it true avast still plans to launch and optional firewall later this year?
Alwil are developing a firewall, though there is no given date for release, so I don’t know wher you got the later this year from. Alwil are usually very close lipped about developments, especially dates.

Yes, we know awil is developing their own firewall but, as David said, the date of release is unknown at this time.

We avast evangelists are all awaiting the coming of the Avast Firewall. We can almost see the shine of it over the horizon.
But we will be the first to know when it will be launched.
Just some patience, my friend - if it is as good as avast AV it will be worth waiting for,

I think there is no need to hurry up when you think to all the bugs and problems already well known and established that FW go through (OA beta, Comodo 3 has had its own etc…). Better testing can save us common users many big words in fact. Think to it. But usually, AVAST has NEVER deceived me!!! 8)
you can use Sygate firewall… its very good & user friendly
Why use SYGATE when MATOUSEC tells me Comodo 3 is one (the only FREE) of the four EXCELLENT FW on Earth?? :o

I absolutely recommend Comodo. And most likely ALWIL Software will include their new firewall in version 4.9 or 5.0. Most likely 5.0…
I think firewall schedule will be postponed… Am I wrong?
They’ve said it will come to light after avast 5.
avast 5 could have a chance to be born before the end of this year…
