my avast firewall is not working but my windows firewall is. Is that ok
Nope, not really…
Repair Avast:
- Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
- Click on ‘Repair’.
- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.
It means you’re still protected but, since you’re paying for Avast Internet Security, all of it’s features should be working.
Thanks for the advice. Repaired and rebooted, Avast firewall is now working.
I wonder if i should uninstall Windows Firewall as it may cause problems with Avast firewall, any suggestions!
Many thanks.
- You’re welcome.
- Not needed.
The windows firewall is an integral part of windows, so you can’t uninstall it only disable it.
It should also have been turned off by Avast once the Avast firewall started.
Nope, as they can run together/parallel.
I stand corrected. Just checked my Windows 10 install which uses Avast Internet Security and it had both
the Avast and Windows firewall on. I’ve now disabled the Windows firewall.
Thanks for the clarification…I know they used to run together…I thought changes had occurred and I was sleeping at the mouse…missed it. LOL ;D
