Firewall

Good morning !.
I’m on windows 7 64 bit family edition
Avast Free for more than 8 years.
I want to download an efficient firewall recognized by the computer security community (other than that of Windows 7) for after January 14, 2020.
I see that there is that of:

Comodo
Alarm Zone
Glasswire
SimpleWall
Binisoft (with WFC)
Your specialist opinion?
Thank you

Hi, my personal recommendation would be Glasswire.

Good morning Asyn.
Is it completely free or usable during a trial period?
Thank you

If you look at the website Asyn provided, you’ll see that they have a free and a paid version.

The free versions offers no firewall functionality.

See paragraph 3 of their FAQ: https://www.glasswire.com/faq/

There’s always the built in firewall in Windows 7.

Good morning!
Thank you for your answers .
@ bob3160:
Yes, I knew that, I was just wondering if the free version was fleeting.
For Windows 7 firewall, I appreciate your humor
@alanb:
Well done.
I noticed it last night

Ghat was a smile not a joke. The firewall from Windows is actually pretty good.
It’s what I’m using in Windows 10.

I think I’m going to upgrade to a paid security version.
I have been working with Avast Free for over 8 years and I was fully satisfied.
However, this date of January 14 annoys me.
I’m thinking of a complete but paid security suite Avast

Why not upgrade to Windows 10?

@ bob3160 :
I gave up setting the outgoing firewall a long time in Windows 7
It is a real Chinese puzzle
:o
This is the reason why I wrote “” humor “”

TinyWall >> https://tinywall.pados.hu/

  1. gives Windows Firewall a sane and secure configuration and
  2. presents you with a simple interface where you can easily define what has network access and what not, while
  3. preventing other programs from modifing or overwriting your firewall settings.

I’m not trying to talk you out of purchasing a paid version of Avast.
Just giving you additional information. Here’s one more program to consider.

Good question .
My equipment includes a complete tower (5 usb 2, card reader (micro SD, XD, CF MD, SD MMC), a keyboard, external DD WD … 11 years … you will understand that if my equipment passes the update, the software downloaded on Windows 10 “goes bogged down” with my 12 year old motherboard
