hi, sorry if this has been asked before, i have been trying to find out about a new firewall that was going to be released in the 21.7 version the premium firewall, that would also be available for Avast premium security as a update can anyone help please ? thank you for your help
I have no idea where you got this from ?
Avast Premium has had a firewall component from it’s inception. Its predecessor, Avast Premier and before that Avast Internet Security had firewall components.
So can you clarify what it is you are seeking ?

hi, this is what iam trying to figure out from a post in august, sorry perhaps i should not of tried to do a link, it is from a page in the Avast form , new Avast version 21.7 august 2021 25th 06:21pm big changes to firewall 21.7.2481it is the first item on the list ?, it talks about upgrade to premium firewall thank you,
hi, i think this is the same thing ? thank you
It wasn’t clear from your post that you didn’t mention that you had Avast Free. Additional highlighting in the quote below is mine.
Big changes to Firewall! — We've redesigned our Firewall, improved its protection, and made it free for everyone to use.If you’ve got Avast Free Antivirus, you’ll find your new Firewall in your Protection menu. It’s already turned on and protecting you. If you’ve got Avast Premium Security, we’ve upgraded you to "Premium Firewall
That just means changes to the firewall (not a new firewall as such), so all of the changes to the firewall would be present after that updates release and for future incremental program updates.
Whilst it was released to a limited number of free users (beta initially) to see how it worked with many user with different operating systems, configurations and installed programs. To date I have the latest Avast Free and whilst it mentions the Avast Firewall it isn’t in the free version yet. Avast 21.10.xxxx is in beta testing and I don’t know if that would include the avast free firewall component yet or not.
One thing for sure, there is no rush as presumably you already have a firewall (windows presumably) until it becomes available.
thank you for your reply
You’re welcome.
Hi Dave, yes - the free firewall is available for all users on beta-channel since V21.8
Just FYI, Firewall component automatically got installed on my Free Avast Antivirus yesterday (not beta). So, it looks like it is indeed distributed to users, albeit quite slowly.
ok,good news, I will also wait patiently. is this feature also available for free users?
Show notifications about newly created ‘allow’ rules: check the box next to this setting to receive notifications when the Firewall allows or blocks new communication lines.
Internet Connection Sharing Mode: allows trusted users to connect to the internet via your PC, or to troubleshoot problems with devices, such as printers connecting to the internet via your PC.
For programs without defined rules, do the following: use the drop-down menu to define what the Firewall does when it detects a new communication path.
System rules: click this button to configure predefined system rules.
Packet rules: click this button to configure communication settings by connection type.
List of network profiles: use the drop-down menu in the individual network pane to configure network profiles.
Still nothing on mine (Avast UI > Protection) other than a link to ‘Upgrade.’
maybe by march 2022 all users can use core firewall features , is the estimate around that r@vast
There is little point in these speculative posts, when it is ready it will be released, be that a phased release doesn’t really matter.
