First scan

Hello,
When i install avast 4.8 Home, 13-11-2009,the first scan detect this.

kernell32.dll locaction c:\windows\system32
winsock.dll locaction c:\windows\system32
wsock32.dll locaction c:\windows\system32

What is it? and what must i do?

Windows 7 Home pr.
prossesor:AMD Phenom 8450 triple core 2.1 Ghz
3 Gb RAM

What do you mean the first scan detected this ?

I suspect there was no detection or you would have been alerted and asked for an action and that these are in fact back-up copies in the System Files section of the chest.

I really do wish Alwil would get rid of this All Chest Files collation of the three sections:

  • The only area you should be interested in is the Infected Files section, this is where the files detected by avast and selected by you to move to the chest are placed.- The User Files section is where the user can add files they suspect of being malware but not detected by avast.- The System Files section is where avast keeps back-up copies of important system files in case the original becomes infected (leave them alone).- The All Chest Files is a collation of the three sections.

Oké,thanks for explane,
But i have enter the recover button is that wrong?have i not done that!!!

Yes it is wrong, as Recover/Restore tries to replace a windows system file that is in use and will be protected by windows. So I presume that you got an error message when you tried that ?

These files in the System Files section of the chest are for avast use. Not only that but the files in the original location aren’t infected or avast would have alerted.

Yes it says:files can not copy…access deneid

Yes, that is windows denying ‘correctly’ to access/replace system files in use.

So it is oké there is noting wrong? :).
How do i hide my email adresse? :-[

It is OK, nothing wrong.

Your email is hidden, only you can see it.
