FIX for Photoshop-"virus" problems that many people are having

The problem is not the Photoshop program exe-file. SPYWARE has copied the Photoshop “_ISdel.exe” file (or similar-name delete-file, in different versions) to use for itself; and it’s changed the real delete-file name to “_ISdel_old.exe” (or similar “old”-label).

Avast misdiagnoses the problem and also wrongfully creates numerous Adobe groups with different names and application rules. To undo:

  1. Turn off Avast.

  2. Delete the fake delete-file in the Photoshop folder and change the “old” file back to its original name.

  3. Re-install Photoshop without the fake file (DO NOT RESTORE the Photoshop exe-file from Avast because it now has a virus-label; delete that one). ALSO DO NOT re-start Photoshop until after successfully applying application rules in step 4 or the exe-file will probably be blocked there even with Avast turned off.

  4. Go to Avast APPLICATION RULES under Security/Firewall and remove/delete all ADOBE groups and rules except the group labeled “Adobe Systems, Incorporated” (or make a group with that exact label; include the comma and do not abbreviate). Add a Photoshop rule to that group (which you cannot do until you re-install “photoshp.exe” and can point to it without being blocked).
