I get this every time I go to my Amazon.ca cart. Haven’t seen it on any other sites.

False positives for me as well, about every 5 minutes starting today. Was trying to upload a screen shot, but I can’t get that to work, either.

I am having this kind of it. It’s pretty annoying since I use Opera

well luckily it looks like I have a system restore point from a week ago. If I do the restore will that bring back all my files? Sorry if thats a dumb question I don’t know much about this stuff.
So far as this goes, it should be.

Wow so im not the only one…
This AV is detecting OPERA.EXE as a malware.

You should do the system restore.
the absolutely same as mine xD
How do I get all these files RESTORED to their original location from the Virus Chest? The Avast scan put tons of files in the Chest after finding the VBS: Malware Gen which is apparently a false positive Avast glitch!
Please give clear instructions to restore the files to their original location . Thank you so much!
Avast FIX this issue ASAP please! I need my computer for a talk later today! Ready to disable Avast!

It did scan a fangame I think it was sonic 2 HD; as a false positive once a long time ago back whenever it got released. This one though, yikes.

Please fix this ASAP. I have uninstalled Avast until this issue is fixed. This pervasive false positive is preventing me from taking care of my daily business online, which is bad enough.
But now I would be a fool to run an Avast scan so long as there are people reporting Avast has deleted large numbers of files from their machines that were not infected. And they are asking how to get their files back!

Can I restore the files on my virus chest now? or wait for the fix?

Total newbie here. I just made an account so I could post here once i saw others having similar issue. Mines slightly different though, I’ve done scans and scans for days, but I keep getting a Threat Detected/Blocked pop up. It doesn’t seem to me like its really a virus or malware though, its located in my windows\system32 and the object is related to something to do with windows10/microsoft updates? Really confusing and I haven’t done anything differently on my computer than I normally do. I’m hoping its just a false reading and related to the problem you guys are having…And I hope its fixed soon!

Got a reply from vlab: A vps with this detection disabled is already being rolled out

I’m experiencing the same problem with VBS: Malware-gen alerts. I did a boot scan and 219 files are in the virus chest. Not knowing what I was doing I messed around with the auto and repair buttons. I didn’t delete anything manually. I can’t find any instructions on how to restore files from the virus chest if and when it’s safe to do so.
Like others who’ve posted, I don’t know what sort of damage I may have done with the boot scan and repair. My computer and windows are working fine. I’m wondering whether I should do a system restore. I guess I’m waiting for word from Avast at this point.
A full vps or just streaming update?

That’s all I know, but it sounds more like a full vps update.
