flushing the DNS.

8)hello forum,
does flushing the DNS make a difference in browsing speed.?
Ive just flushed mine and my firefox browser seems to be running faster.
Is this by pure chance or does flushing the DNS make a significant difference in speed.?
Thanks.

In some cases the local DNS cache can become corrupted. In that case, yes, manually flushing it could speed things up. Normally, the DNS cache is flushed each time you reboot and that is generally sufficient.

The downside is that you have to go to the DNS Server rather than the cache if you are constantly clearing the DNS Cache. So it is 6 of one half a dozen of the other.
