fn84hjf1-form "infected' safezone browser

ok, so this thing is a nightmare… i don’t know what it does, and only 4 google results on it.

i do know it adds a second search bar, which is intentionally discrete and generic, and when ever you enter something into a text field, it automatically “steals” the text, and plops it into the extra search bar, and then displays bing results… it appears almost at random, sometimes on the first page… sometimes 15 pages in… it also redirects to fake virus warning phishing pages randomly. i have been trying to remove it… avg, win def, avast, bitdefender all turned up nothing… as seems to be the case with everyone who has had this problem… clean installs don’t work… chaing user profiles… nope… nothing…

at first i thought this was a chrome only problem, and i have been working all day on figuring out how to get rid of it… i decided to sign into something using the avast safezone browser(which i installed an hour before this post and never opened till just now…) and low and behold… there it was… safezone doesn’t feel so safe anymore…

p.s. i did a fresh install of windows not very long ago, and have long running habit of using the custom install option, so as not to (knowingly) install anything that would give me a tool bar like this…

You’re in luck because I just had the exact same issue and searched for hours on a way to get rid of this god damn bar. None of the malware removal programs like Hitman Pro or Malwarebytes could fix it but the Zemana Antimalware program finally did. It was detected as an internet hijack setting set to web-start.org. I found it here https://www.zemana.com/en-US. I’m not sure if it was a trial or a free version but it was free and finally got rid of the search bar stealing problem.

Found your message by searching “fn84hjf1” because I saw this throughout the webpage code lol.
