I have been trying to install ant theft on my device with the Advanced Installation Mode however no matter what I try I can’t seem to get it working.
I have tried every different way to install in advanced and this either doesn’t succeed or I get a force close when installation is completed and I check the status in the Avast App. Also in my account anti theft is disabled.
If I install with the easy method it works fine. However I would like to have the extra security of root installation so the anti theft will persist over wipes.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100)
ROM: Ressurection Remix Rom 3.1.3 Jelly Bean 4.2.1,
Kernel: 3.0.57 Siyah v5 MCM i9100-vsync_sysfs+ Kernel
a) Create an empty file called “avast-debug” on your /sdcard root directory (on Android 4.x phones there might be a user subdirectory in the sdcard path – if yes use that)
b) REBOOT your phone
c) Now Avast generates a lot of log
d) Try to reconstruct your problem
e) After that, open Mobile Security and go to the feedback screen (About)
f) Check “Send system log”
g) Create a case there giving your email address and mention this conversation as well as a short description of the problem (maybe someone else will get the case)
h) Then remove the avast-debug file again
i) REBOOT your phone
j) Everything back to normal
I tried creating the file empty file and recreating however the file didn’t change? I created it in the root of the internal sdcard and there is no user directory in there? Also I created an empty file by creating a new text file and removing the .txt extension and copying to the phone.
