Formatting question: How to insert a picture with a smaller preview?

How do you insert a picture on this forum, that has a smaller preview, than its original size?
It would render as a small picture, but when clicked, would show the original size.

The only option with the SMF 2.0.18 forum software would be Attaching it and not inserting it within the posts text. You see the smaller image below the post, they are stored within the forums location and expand when clicked.

Unless you were able to create the reduced image as the link to full size image.
But then again that may be a problem and many wouldn’t visit unknown 3rd party sites to view images, in the same way they wouldn’t click on unknown links to 3rd party sites.

Thank you. For reference, here are some useful links from the Simple Machines Forum engine online manual:

You’re welcome, the Forum Administrators have been slow to update the software.

Whilst I don’t know if this img tag would give the effect that you are hoping, whilst the code indicates you can reduce the size of the image, but that image has to be located elsewhere as in the example wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/images/1/19/Button_media.png example to display the image at full size.

So, even if it did work and increase the size if/when clicked, it would still be pointing to an unknown 3rd party site to display the image at full size.
To my mind attaching it is simpler for all, reduces the size below the post and expands when clicked without leaving the forum/post.

It works as I expected. You can click to enlarge it, and then click again to make it small again. [‍img width=150]https://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=324487.0;attach=225552;image[/img]

In your other topic and this one I clicked it and it opened yes.

Security is what I’m talking about here, it is in effect a hidden link, that when you hover over it doesn’t show the URL. In the other topic it is a 3rd party site that you have no idea what is going to spring up.

So it may work as you think it should, but as far as security goes it isn’t good (what I mentioned in my first reply) !
