“hyaxltd, you’re just poor little idiot, that’s all.”
…thats a response from someone who has OBVIOUSLY NEVER attended a current reseller conference on security. Otherwise he would know that MY POINT has been the main emphasis on ‘bad code’ and its vunerabilities for the past three years running…THE MAIN TOPIC!!!
EDIT: BTW…I used ‘bad code’ so someone didnt have another tizzie fit…
Go to the next one and TELL ALL OF THEM they dont know what they are talking about. Simply because you and Alwil have decided that something cant be being done, COMON SENSE dictates otherwise.
Check your facts before you insult someone with data that IS WRONG.
Oh, that topic which I kept finding in locked and deleted threads.
In any case, I know I haven’t experienced any redirection from Cnet or any one else because
a portion of avast! 5 uses a flash function.
Hmm…, I don’t know what is going on, I used to download avast from filehippo. Ever once download the free version from Cnet, and I remember found no redirection - or am I wrong?
I dont think hes talking about the redirection to cnet for the download of avast 5, which was what I did back then.
Rather he is talking about some redirection from cnet ??? I didn’t see that happen. Or least not sure what he means.
Also, he may have been moderated by forum as a result of his wayward rants (thru redirection of his posts), but I dont know much about that either. I seemed to have missed that part.
As for the redirection issue from Cnet, I find a possible explanation from spg SCOTT most convincing. The issue may be more or less related with a recent Avast! blog entry about Ads poisoning. However, the OP hasn’t come back to either confirm or deny it. Also, Uncle Bud seems to have hijacked the thread. To make matters worse, judging form his recent forum activities, he seems to have a tendency to mix up things, making it impossible for the others to understand what he wants to say… ??? I can understand the frustration of Zyndstoff and igor but, IMHO, they are too direct, as well. In any case, this seems to be a complaint to the forum moderation, which should be discussed through PMs to the moderators. So, I report this thread to the moderators. :-\
Rumpel, you are of course right.
I got carried away in that thread, and I will apologize to Uncle Bud right now.
However, you saw and read the thread - it wasn’t easy to withstand his challenging tone.
I couldn’t, I failed.
I’m sorry about it, but I can’t change it now.
Thanks, Rumpel, you’re kind. But anyway it is true that I used inappropriate language, which I normally try to successfully avoid.
I did my apologies just a second ago also to his mailbox.
Actually, the point was the adobe flash topic…
I appologized for the language, but on the subject matter I still don’t agree to Uncle Bud.
But let’s stopp the discussion in this thread now.
@ Rumpel - I perfectly understood what Igor was talking about
@ Zyndstoff - Perhaps Uncle Bud will accept your apology and we can move on. He obviously likes avast! antivirus so pity for him to change AV.
@ spg SCOTT - http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=55735.msg471264#msg471264 - yes sometimes I nearly fall into that kind of trap. You see same thing in driverguide.com (though still best for drivers). You must take care not to click the wrong download button or you end up get software advertising. This practice is not new, but rather commonplace and can be very dangerous wrong time, wrong place. And as you say Rumpel about ad poisoning, such practices are probably getting worse.
@ myron - hope you made it through to your download of avast
