Found Bundlore-B within my Downloads

Hello, I recently found a Malware called NSIS:Bundlore-B [Adw] within my download sections, this seems to be a lesser known virus as I only found 1 other person with this problem on this forum.

I should also explain other issues I am having with my system at the moment, although you should keep in mind it may have nothing to do with finding this sneaky malware, although then again it may have everything to do with it.

I have been having blue screen issue for around 2 days now but it only seems to happen when I am playing games or watching videos which is why I am unsure it is the Bundlore as this seems to point to graphics card/RAM/Motherboard driver/hardware issues. At first I thought the blue screen was a problem with my AVG, so I promptly removed it and installed Avast! I did a full scan with Avast! and it found this Bundlore malware (and I will point out that AVG did not find it). so far I have been impressed with Avast! and I am considering paying for the full internet security once my trial has rung out.

My question is am I safe now as I found the malware within my downloads or will you need a OTL attachment or whatever it is?

Almost forgot I was having adverts on my google chrome pages even with Ad-Block installed which may point to a more serious problem.

Thanks for reading and hope you can help me as soon as possible.

Bump

Aye you can post an OTL log and I will have a shufti for you ;D

Here we go, hope Its the right one.

Also Malware Bytes came up with no other malwares or irregularities with the scan, although I might do a full system scan later tonight.

i see some McAfee files in there … did you use it before …or still installed

Its still installed, is that a problem?

never ever install multiple AV. it will slow down your machine, give mysterious windows errors, false positive detections …etc etc

uninstall it and reboot, then run the removal tool and reboot.

Ok thanks! Learn something new everyday, and I will remove it.

Other than that though can you give my system the all clear or do you want me to remove Mcafee and do another OTL scan or something else?

one of the removal experts will check for malware …essexboy will be back in soon, just be patient

That looks OK … You still have the AVG search bar hanging around though

Ok thanks! I’ll see what I can do with the avg search bar too! That’s only one problem however gotta go fix this damn blue screen now! But thats a problem that doesn’t concern yourselves, so thank you for your quick responses and helping me out with this issue! It’s good to know that if somehow I have a virus in the future I have you guys to help me out!

When it blue screens does it reference a driver/file or a stop error ?

Yes it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL at the top of the page and stop near the bottom followed by a string of numbers, does not mention any drivers however, I should also note that it hasn’t blue screened for a day but I haven’t been playing any games or watching any videos. In fact I don’t think it has blue screened since it found that malware but I can’t be sure.

Could you play a game or watch a video and see if it recurs

I just played an hour of Black Mesa and I had no problems, it seems it was the Malware. Well that’s a load off my mind! Only thing left to do is change all my passwords now :frowning:

Glad to hear all is OK…

Hello its me again, it seems I’ve had another blue screen, this time it was when I was away from the computer and left it on lock…

the error message was different this time saying, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGE_AREA, and again it said STOP: at the bottom followed by a string of numbers.

That could indicate a RAM problem, how many sticks of RAM are in your system ?

2 Sticks of RAM 4gb each, I am playing a game right now and its seems to be working fine, it seems to only happen on the lock screen. If its just the lock screen ill be OK with that I don’t use it that much I normally just put it to sleep. I was just worried that it may be the virus returning but now I don’t think it is that.

It might be worth running a memory check when you have time
