I just got an email, supposedly from Avast telling me urgent action is required about updating my financial information. Basically it says:

Our payment processor may soon be ceasing operations, so we will now be using our own platform instead. To ensure that your Avast Premium Security for Windows subscription is not interrupted and your protection does not lapse, we need you to re-enter your payment details into your Avast account today.
First I don’t work for Avast, but an Avast user like you (only I use Avast Free).
Are you sure this is from Avast in the email details you should be able to check the origin/source of the email - it does sounds like a phishing attempt to get your information. Though it would be very hit and miss to actually hit an Avast Premium Security user with a payment mandate.
Presumably you have Avast Premium Security ?
There is a possibility that they will no longer be handling the payment mandates. I won’t ask who that company was.
However, if you have a payment mandate in force and it is auto renewal - I would suggest you stop that auto renewal mandate. Via your Avast Account.
