As mentioned in the title, Free Antivirus does not have an option to continue renewal of Free, instead there is just a single button to start the ‘special deal’ for the paid service.
I’ve followed through the process mentioned in /article/Activate-Free-Antivirus/#pc and it brings me to the same point, after pressing ‘Select‘ the only button is for starting the ‘Special Deal‘ of the Paid version with no button to continue renewing the Free version.
This needs fixing somehow.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
How long is it until the end of you current Avast Free registration renewal ?
I have been using Avast Antivirus Free for over 21 years, however my renewal date if in February, so a long wait to confirm.
In the past, yes you got notifications (to go Premium) as the date got closer. However there comes a point that it should automatically renew the Avast Free registration.
It’s finished and the application has a notification saying ‘Your Avast Free Antivirus license is no longer valid, Reactivate your license today for another year of powerful online protection‘. No autorenew and the ‘Reactivate’ button just leads to the ‘Special Deal‘ with no option to continue the free version.
Yes, I probably should have clicked on the reminder to renew in the past before it got to this point but there should be some way of reactivating it since there is a reactivate button available.
Unfortunately I’m out of ideas on this and it is a long time to February.
I will try and seek some information if this is a new policy.
Outside of this I don’t know if this might work, a Clean Reinstall.

You would probably have to use a new email address as that could link to your old version of Avast Free.
