i’ve been alerted to renew my FREE Avast (yeah, i’m cheap and broke) but when i try to renew it…i found that i had to pay for some 1 year subscription !
how do i renew for FREE ???

If you’re having trouble following the renewal procedure from within the program,
simply fill out the forum offered here and insert the license key sent to you.
(I’ve always done my renewal through the program and have done so for many years.)

since i don’t think i’ll be able to inset the license key directly to the program ?
No, you’re not starting over. When the key arrives it comes with instructions on how to insert it into the program.

why Avast make it so troublesome anyway since it’s free ?
just keep it going without renewal is far better
Without renewal, there are no statistics and they would never know how many people are actually using their product.
