Free Bitdefender Traffic Light Extension

for chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cfnpidifppmenkapgihekkeednfoenal
for firefox:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/trafficlight/
Runs well with AvastFree 6 and Agnitum Outpost Free Suite FW on Win 7 64bits. Doesn’t slow down at all my bandwidth speed contrary to previous versions and setups (I was using Comodo suite then but turned back to Avast as Comodo made Windows Update constantly fail (!..)). Still in beta, but stable. Sorry to say, but seems much better than our Avast WebRep (as most sites are not yet flagged!). So I recommend it!

A little Google add on I’ve used for quite a while and I also haven’t noticed any adverse effect.

works fine for firefox also
hi bob

Yes, it works. But it consumes a lot of RAM and interferes with flash video and flash games. I uninstalled it.

I just spent the last two hours testing this and all i can say is it’s poor, porn sites are all flagged green for starters, a simple search of carsales will bring up different results each time on the same links, also tried some known malicious links and nothing :o
Runs well, nice and lite but the results are rubbish ::slight_smile:

Porn sites aren’t something I ever visit but, they don’t necessarily have to be infected. Safe means not infected it’s not meant to be a rating site.

There not something i visit either but there usefull for testing and they are known bad site’s that i checked them with but that still doesn’t explain why there are different ratings displayed on every check of the same links on numerus pages, try it yourself! google carsales and see the results then close the browser then google carsales again ? thats just one example as i tried it on several different suggestions and always different results.
I know safe means not infected but alot of the links i ran by it are infected.
I dont recommend this program at all, a big thumbs down imo.

Doing a search for “carsales” without the quotes, gives me a list of where I can buy cars within my area which currently is Ridgefield CT.
and I get the same answer as to the safety of the individual dealers websites each time.

hhmm, not that way for me, sometimes there green then there orange then green and orange, all over the place ???
Not for me i guess

Individual dealers websites will and should have different ratings unless they are all clean.
It isn’t a rating for one website but separate individual sites.

I realise that, what im saying is that the ratings are changing for the same site everytime i go back to them, every 20 odd seconds.

Are you using Chrome or Firefox ??? What other security related apps. are involved???

Using IE9, security is all in my sig plus i also tried it without norton dns and MBAM website blocking is turned off.

I tried this some time back…but i uninstalled it…just a over-security.

Isn’t that the same as saying that MBAM is over security ??? If the program helps to
protect you or aids in stopping a possible infection without adversely effecting
the OS then where do you draw the line on “over-security” ???

I meant it in terms of web browsing…This addon doesn’t give any real time protection for files right?

I think managing Hostsfile, using a secure DNS, using Avast and MBAM Web site blocking function is enough for me as I don’t browse any unknown websites and stuff. And, I use Firefox with NoScript and Opera. Both these browsers have their own security features.

So, in a way…Its over security in terms of web browsing

It’s a little odd for you to call this program over the top considering all the things
you already run on your computer. ;D
You’re right sometimes too much isn’t a good thing but, what constitutes too much seems to depend
and vary greatly from user to user.

Since there’s no way to tell which is a safe site and which is not,
Your statement of browsing carefully really doesn’t hold water. (Sorry, but it’s a well known fact.)

Is that bar at the top always there?
Seems a bit of a waste of space no?

No that bar is not always there, it only shows when you click on the drop down button.

ahh, ok.

May well give it a go later, when I am back at my machine…
