Free Bitdefender Traffic Light Extension

Im going to try it again just to see if i can nut out the the issue with me getting different results on searches as i do like the whole concept of it.

There was a discussion on Wilders Security about Bitdefender Traffic Light not being “that” reliable about “ratings”. It gave about always green lights… Hey, it’s still “Beta”! But it’s blocking and stopping malicious sites and malware sites are renowned. ::slight_smile:

Hi bob3160,

I have that extension in GoogleChrome and I use it additionally to avast Webrep, WOT and webutation.
It has found issues on sites other scanner did miss. But it is as with all web rep extensions and DrWeb’s AV Link Checker as well, you like to have them inside the browser or you would rather stay without.
Just as with dashboard lights, some are minimalists, where other are not. By the way I like the “click to show” function of the Traffic Light Interface and bitdefender’s website scan is renowned, and is part of the online VT URL analysis tool,

polonus

works fine on firefox as i posted earlier
and is that whom i think it is
Polonus back on the forum ;D

Since I have the BitDefender add-on installed, do you guys think it is safe to disable the Mozilla Firefox’s security ???

just leave as it… I have WOT…Adblock Plus and NoScript

LOL ;D

I agree…but I browse carefully…I don’t download any thing unknown…I got no credit cards…Just a gaming card and my college card…

Yup, I have this habit of install quite a number of pre alpha and beta softwares but then its a valid application.

But then I am half wrong…not fully wrong…just saying

I still think using Hostsman + Avast Shield + WebRep + MBAM Web block function+ Firefox and NoScript or Opera which is powered by AVG is pretty decent web protection…

Yeah, in the end, it differs from user to user…

Edited:

By the way, currently testing Comodo 5.8 Beta…Hoping to find a blame :stuck_out_tongue:

But then I am half wrong...not fully wrong...just saying
I've yet to see someone fall into the lake and come out "half" wet. ;D

Your comments on this topic are very convincing and I installed Bitdefender Traffic Light again. But I must say that there is one site where this extension is not working. It is http://www.mail.ru/ I can’t even see the Traffic Light’s button there.

Don’t feel bad, neither can I.

It would be good if avast could impliment the same idea with webrep as bitdefender did with this program in the way that they use the drop down tab rather than one big toolbar with nothing on it but webrep.

Its quite possible…like when the Big Bang created Earth…There is a probability for everything in this world

Yup

That’s truly a strange answer coming from someone calling himself “Christian Geek - aka ‘born again’ Geek”

Hmm…I see Big Bang as G-D speaking ‘Let there be light’ and so on…but I wish no one replied to this because I don’t want myself to drag my feet into Evolution vs Creationism debate…

But i guess, my choice of example was poor…but still, there is a probability for everything…thats what Statistics taught me…

@ Chris Thomas,
What or how do any of your answers contribute to the topic of Free Bitdefender Traffic Light Extension ???

It doesn’t contribute much…but i was refuting your claims that I feel into a river and got wet…thats all

Well, for Comodo 5.8 beta, I’d blame you because Comodo is stronger than Windows(interferes)!!! ::slight_smile: It made fail all my critical important Windows Updates of July and by getting rid of it I solved the problem swearing they wouldn’t get me again! 8)
For the BITDEFENDER TRAFFIC LIGHT EXTENSION BETA, anybody has noticed the advice on download pages about THE TOOLBAR ACCESSING PRIVATE INFORMATION DATA ??? It’s a serious CON I have but when you think of it it’s Bitdefender and it’s an extension that has to do it to protect us while surfing. Otherwhise, it should not interfere with my speed.

BITDEFENDER TRAFFIC LIGHT EXTENSION BETA is updated to version 0.1.19.

When it comes out of Beta in 2012 I’ll give it a try.
