(Free) license key is longer than the space in program

Hey, i recently renewed my free license, and got the key via email. While trying to insert it into the program i noticed, that the key is in different format than the space for it. Key itself is 19+8 (27) chars, while the space for it is 6+6+6 (18) chars. What do i do wrong?

The free version doesn’t require a key or activation code anymore for quiet some time.
It seems to me that you are using a old version.

It would appear that you are using the Insert Activation Code - that is in the format 6+6+6 - this is only used in the free version if you are upgrading to one of the paid versions of avast.
