Windows 10 and Windows 7 are two entirely different working OS’s (kernels).
Meaning you can expect (a lot) of problems when you just upgrade.

The thread you mention is about a user that doesn’t seem to know how to handle add-ons in FireFox.
Next to that, newer versions of FireFox as well as avast have been released after the OP’s post.
We paid a lot of money for this product and need to have this issue resolved.

Passwords is available with all editions of Avast Antivirus 2016, including Avast Free Antivirus.
So no, you did not have to pay for it.

I don’t know for how long you have been using Windows, but you paid a lot of money for it and still Microsoft hasn’t been able to provide a Windows version without serious bugs/security flaws for about 31 years.
YES. There is a free upgrade to windows 10 for windows 7 users. MY BAD for calling it a trial. It tells you that you can switch back quickly if you don’t like it.
This computer is brand new. I shouldn’t have any problem quickly switching back.
Yes. We know how to handle the add-ons. I’ve installed add-ons on firefox frequently as I’m sure the other user had too.
NO. I paid 9.99 for Avast Passwords. So, it was supposed to be free then? Guess I got ripped off by Avast. I have email receipts for all of my Avast purchases.
SO, thanks for nothing? Do you have any real troubleshooting abilities?
avast passwords is free if you have the av.
You can buy it as a standalone application if you don’t want to use the av.
So if you have the av, there was no need for it to buy it.
If you bought it recently I suggest to ask for a refund.
To do so you need to submit a ticket > https://support.avast.com
Perform a repair of avast and see if it solves the problem.
If not, perform a clean installation of avast.
New systems often come with a pre-installed av.
If this is the case with yours, make sure it is completely removed before repairing/installing avast.
