My advice would be to stay away from registry cleaners. They can do more harm than good. And, if you are unable to boot because of the cleaning and do not have a backup, you can be in real trouble. That said, many people say that IOBit Advanced System Care Free is a good tool.
Nope…IObit is a company you should stay away from…
you can read here what they did to Malwarebytes…

So use CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/
(remeber to untic the toolbar if you don`t want it, or download the slim version)
Little information on IObit http://blogs.computerworld.com/15026/iobit_accused_of_stealing_from_malwarebytes
I am comfortable with ccleaner. http://www.piriform.com/
ccleaner slim version without toolbar: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
Select 4th one down.
Hi,
Just wanted to say thank you all for your replies I really do appreciate it.

I don’t believe in tuneup tools…
I do believe in manual tweaking knowing what you’re doing ![]()
Add another to the I don’t think tune-up utilities are worth the potential hassle and they really don’t make much of a difference.
+1, but I do like those tools which making ‘Tweaking’ easier and safer with easy to use GUI and Backup tool ![]()
Avoid using any kind of tune up tools because they just crap the system even more. If you have to, use CCleaner only along with Defraggler.
I am never ever using a tune up tool again.
The last time I used it (one of them, perhaps auslogics), it deleted my office installation file of sorts, causing the word files to appear as blank icons.
Really annoying.
CCleaner is the safest tune-up tool to use imo.
Agreed.
I had auslogic’s ruin some files of mine also, best and safest is ccleaner and defragler by piriform, these two program’s have never faulted :).
+1 at the strongest and most highest advise this really does crap up the system as hell I say, any kind of tune up tool software doesn’t keep you PC healthy what your just doing is feeding your PC with cocaine and heroin while waiting to die before you reformat HD or re-image your last backup clone onto your PC. I only used CCleaner only along with a free Defraggler software.
Stay away from IOBit and Advanced System Care!!! I can’t tell you how many people I have helped fix their system because they put this cr*p on their machine. Once it was removed, everything worked fine.
The best is CCleaner Slim version at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds - 4th option down.
Advanced SystemCare is actually fairly good… I’ve been using its pro version for over one year now, and no problem so far.
Does’nt take away the fact that they are a distrustful company who steal from other company’s (MALWAREBYTES) in particular.
The product might be, but the company has some moral bad form with intellectual property rights.
So for me it wouldn’t matter how good a product is (aside from I wouldn’t use any tuneup application) if there is any suspicion/history about the company, I wouldn’t use their products. There are plenty of other applications without this question about moral/ethical activity.
Advanced SystemCare is a good tools, assuming that you know what you’re doing and what file and registry entry that is safe to delete or not. Most problem coming from it is because most user using the autocare feature (scan and clean/delete).
I’ve tried Advanced SystemCare out of curiosity that this application listed as the most downloaded in diagnostic software section.

Ashampoo WinOptimizer is a good tool (I’ve got it free from promotion, but it’s not a free tool), again assuming that you know what you’re doing.
CCleaner is a good Windows cleaning tool. I always use this for an easy way to clean junk file.
Microsoft Sysinternals is a good handy tools to have. It contains many small useful application. I always use this myself for tweaking and monitoring.
